Dux Calendar

Usage

Usage

DankCalendar is a daemon with a window attached. Closing the window only hides it. The daemon and tray icon keep running, so sync and reminders continue. Reopen from the tray icon, the desktop entry, or dcal show.

Window & Daemon

dcal # launch, or show/focus the window if already running
dcal show # show/focus the window
dcal show --view week # show the window on a specific view (month|week|day|agenda)
dcal toggle # toggle window visibility
dcal toggle --view day # toggle, opening on a specific view
dcal open <url> # open a webcal:// subscription link (no url just shows the window)
dcal run # run in the foreground (logs to the terminal)
dcal run -d # run as a background daemon
dcal run -d --hidden # run hidden, tray only (used by autostart)
dcal restart # restart the running instance
dcal kill # stop everything

dcal run also accepts --session (for a systemd-managed unit), --log-level <debug|info|warn|error|fatal>, and --log-file <path>. Use --config <dir> on any command to point at a custom UI config directory instead of the embedded one.

Sync

dcal sync # force a sync of all accounts
dcal sync <account-id> # sync a single account

See Accounts for connecting and managing calendars.

Reminders

List your upcoming event reminders:

dcal reminders # list upcoming reminders (default 20)
dcal reminders --limit 5 # cap the list
dcal reminders test # send a test desktop notification

Reminders fire as native desktop notifications. Configure them globally, per-calendar, or per-event from the GUI (Settings → Notifications, and each calendar's reminder overrides).

Invitations

Respond to a meeting invitation from the CLI. Pass the event's ID (from dcal ipc events.list) and your reply:

dcal events rsvp <event-id> accept
dcal events rsvp <event-id> decline
dcal events rsvp <event-id> tentative

Your response is pushed back to the provider. You can also respond from the event's details window in the GUI, which shows the full attendee list and their statuses.

JSON Output

Most commands accept --json for scripting:

dcal account list --json
dcal reminders --json
dcal version --json
